The Many Days of Hubby's B-day!

Yesterday was dh's birthday! We celebrated by going out to lunch together at BW-3. I had teriyaki wings and celery. How healthy is that? Yay me!

I made lasagna, garlic bread, and cheesecake. I only had a bite or two of the cheesecake. (But an abundance of lasagna) Oh well, that's what a free meal is for, right?

Today... is St. Andrew's day! http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/libraries/historysphere/standrew/standrew.html Do check it out! Did I mention that hubby is a scot? Did I mention that he is the sort of fanatical scot who claims there was never a british empire, because James of Scotland became King of England as well... so that in fact the Scottish conquered the British? No... well, rest assured this will be an annual event.

In honor of the day...we've picked up some aged scotch single malt whiskey. Perfect for sipping in front of a fireplace.

So... yesterday's food: 2 eggs, one slice ww toast, wings and celery, lasagna, garlic bread, a little cheesecake. Not bad... let's see what today will bring!

Monday, Monday...

Can't trust that day!

Especially if you are up til 2:00 a.m. and then have to get up at 6:30 a.m. to get the kidlets out the door for school. Yes... I hurt. My upper body aches today. That's the way we like it though!!

So far for food... I've had a chicken breast and a can of no salt added green beans. Admittedly it was a large chicken breast. I also had a chocolate protein coffee shake this morning. Afternoon shake will be more choco protein, and supper will be chicken in mushroom gravy with stuffing. Yummy!

Exercise plans: Walk the dog with son Alex... it's a great way to get him to open up more and chat. Also, I'm going to do 3 10 minute stints on the exercise bike and work my abs.

We're all in this together!

Beginning Again

Yep. That's what I said.

Time for a do-over, I think.

I know... I know... lots of folks start new fitness programs and stuff after the New Year... not me. For me, the gales of November mean it's time to start over fresh. So here goes...

I walked about 2.25 miles this morning with dh, then about another mile with him later in the afternoon. Probably about a half mile with the dog, and then walked to the store.

I also lifted weights! My arms are sooo sore, people. My elbows hurt terribly. Is it possible that at 38 I'm getting arthritis? And what an odd place... the elbows? Hmmm... is it time to pick up some glucosamine chondroitin?

Time to start planning healthy meals, and eating for myself. I can't do this and stay who I am. I need to be different. So, I need to revise who I am. Need some advice and help about who that is. Time to find out who I can be... and want to be... not who I'll settle for.

Well... enough pep talk... on with the show!

Sunday

It's been a good day. I had a nice walk this morning with my husband. I started some coffee bright and early and we were able to drink it on our walk. The air was so crisp. There is something I love about chilly mornings.

Dh and I went out to brunch with our kids, and my in-laws. They were taking us out because we've been married now for the last *gasp* 14 years. Yep. That's a real long time by today's standards. The boy fell in love with the food. Prime rib and shrimp, quite the buffet. The daughter liked the chocolate fondue fountain. That is what she loved!

Then, the daughter went to dance. It has been so good for her, really. She's gotten stronger.
